History Of Discovery Edit
Dinosaur fossils were first discovered thousands and thousands of years ago, in Ancient China. The Ancient Chinese civilizations thought that the dinosaur fossils which they had been discovering were really dragons' bones. Many years later, in the early 1800's, scientists first began to study dinosaurs, really, for the very first time in history. The first three dinosaurs ever to be discovered, Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, and Hylaeosaurus, were all discovered, during this time period. Later on, in the latter part of the 1800's, two palaeontologists, Othniel Charles Marsh and Edward Drinker Cope, discovered tons of dinosaurs, during a period of intense palaeontological exploration and frenzy, which is known as The Bone Wars.
